Water Quality & Erosion Control of Tennessee was founded in 2002 to serve client specific needs after federal and state NPDES and Clean Water Act regulations that affected construction sites became a municipal focus. Since 2002, WQEC of TN has consulted on more than 350 commercial, institutional, residential, road, and infrastructure construction sites in Middle Tennessee.
WQEC was developed into a full service environmental consulting business by majority owner Jean Matthews, CPESC, CESSWI. WQEC is fundamentally involved in the development of the Tennessee Construction Storm Water General Permit and the local Stormwater ordinances. WQEC specializes in helping our clients understand how federal, state and local environmental regulations can affect their projects before, during, and after construction.

WQEC of TN has acted as subcontractor to Prime contractors for TDOT projects, Metro Water Services, the City of Mt. Juliet, the City of Lebanon, and the City of Murfreesboro. Water Quality & Erosion Control of Tennessee is a pre-qualified TDOT DBE subcontractor, a pre-qualified Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority WBE subcontractor, and a pre-qualified Metro Nashville SBE (Small Business Enterprise).
